Veggie Chart

I received this chart that tells me how some of my favorite foods will benefit my health in an email from our friend Crazy Bob (he’s not really totally crazy, but the crazy part of him is what we like about him). Since I’d just returned from a trip to the local Farmers Market with a slew of luscious vegetables and choice fresh baked breads, I was especially gratified to see what those veggies will do for me. Then I decided to put it in a safe place so that I can refer to it from time to time. So I’m putting it here. If anyone is aware where this chart originated, please let me know.

  1. This is totally fantastic! I’m printing this off. It now has a new home on my fridge door. This is so much better than taking pills for random ailments.

  2. Hey! You forgot okra! 😉 I do know that okra is exceptionally high in protein, but don’t know what else it has that’s good for you–there’s bound to be several benefits, as great as it is, ya?

  3. Oh lord yes, there are benefits! One word that quickly comes to mind–pardon my earthiness!–the “C” word (constipation)! Okra’s full of fiber, and it tastes good too. Thanks for writing.

  4. I didn’t ever tell you that I love this post and all the info! I had no idea pineapple blocks diahrrea! Or that onions fight fungus … so if I shake onion salt in my grandson’s shoe will it cure his athlete’s foot?

  5. Hello, I just thought I’d return your visit. You have such an interesting blog, and this is a wonderful chart! I’m going to print it out for my children. One of them will happily eat any kind of vegetable, and the other one will only eat vegetables under protest. This will be good information for both of them! Take care.

  6. Fanntastic list, thank you, I was looking for something like this as a wall chart, great for kids too. regards Sharon

    • I’m stumped at this moment, but I’ll bet those who hate the eggplant would say it has to be good for you because it tastes so yuckky! Not that I feel that way, you understand, as long as it’s prepared right! 🙂

It's always nice to know what you're thinking...
