Most Dangerous Cake in the World*

During the past several months I received a recipe for chocolate cake-in-a-mug in emails from several people who know what a chocoholic I am.  In case you’re one who didn’t find it in your email box, I’m posting it here as my special valentine. If you live alone, please make yourself your very own special valentine treat and think of me.

CHOCOLATE CAKE-IN-A-MUG

For one serving, you’ll need:

1 coffee mug
4 tablespoons cake flour (the email version said cake flour, but I’d use self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
small splash of vanilla
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

1. Add dry ingredients to the mug and mix well with a fork. Add egg and mix thoroughly.

2. Pour in milk, oil and vanilla. Mix well. Add chips (if using).

3. Put mug in microwave and cook for 3 minutes on 1000 watts. Cake will rise over top of mug.

Don’t be alarmed! Allow to cool a little; tip onto a plate if desired. Eat.
This can serve two if there’s someone else around, and you want to feel virtuous.

*As for WHY this is the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we’re all only five minutes away from chocolate czke any time of day or night.
